The Challenge
TMP Studios is an independent specialist college that deliver creative qualifications including Music Performance, Music Technology & Media Production to students over the age of 16. The college required funding to facilitate the 25,000sq ft expansion of their existing campus in Wigan within a six-week time frame.
The client had initially explored options with their existing provider; however, they were unable secure appropriate terms, largely due to the niche nature of the assets they were looking to fund.
The Solution
PMD Structured Finance Director, Kai Wynne-Jones was subsequently introduced to the client through one of PMD’s trusted professional partners, NRB.
Following an initial conversation with TMP Studios, we were able to fully understand their requirements, including the time sensitive nature of the project, and engage with our specialist funding partners. This enabled us to secure a six-figure finance facility for the associated fit-out, but more notably to support with the purchase of several niche musical instruments.
The Result
The funding facilitated by Kai and the team at PMD provided the client with the platform to accommodate additional students as well as introduce new facilities including an e-sports arena, art & SFX studio and recording equipment.

"Kai and the team at PMD helped us tremendously when we took over a new building for our college premises. Typically, building costs began to increase halfway through the project and, although we had an amazing building to accommodate new learners for the upcoming academic year, we were left in a position unable to fill it with the necessary equipment and facilities. We funded all kinds of equipment with PMD and the process was quick, easy and reassuring with regular updates and good, friendly communication. We were able to finance office equipment such as desks and chairs and some more obscure equipment like musical instruments, audio and visual equipment, canteen facilities and computing equipment including gaming PCs and accessories.
